One of President Biden's most interesting attempts to influence young people was inviting Olivia Rodrigo to the White House in the summer of 2021. Rodrigo was invited to meet with President Joe Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci to help promote COVID-19 vaccines to younger generations. During her visit, she also made a special appearance in the White House briefing room to address the media and urge young people to get vaccinated.

Rodrigo's visit to the White House was part of the Biden administration's efforts to encourage more young people to get vaccinated against COVID-19. As a popular figure among teenagers and young adults, Rodrigo's influence can help spread the message and raise awareness about the importance of vaccination. The singer was plastered throughout President Biden's Instagram account and the White House's Youtube page. In the social media posts, Rodrigo is encouraging her fans to get vaccinated and praises the efforts of healthcare workers and scientists who have made the vaccines possible.

  1. I wonder if this type of influence is well intentioned. The most alarming part of this approach wasn't the thought process. It makes sense: find someone with a connection to younger people and who also aligns with your ideas. The concern is, Olivia's fans could be very young —minors in fact. Should the President of the United States be trying to influence children? Thats a weird question to broker, all things considered. The issue is trying to influence or inform the youth is almost circumventing the structure of the family, which is a big deal or Biden's actual electorate. Also, he is influencing them on medical decisions, which adds even more to the 'problematic scale'. I mean, there is no difference between Olivia's influence and say Hannah Montanan 15 years ago. Could you imagine Hannah Montana using her popularity for a vaccine? It was a bold move for the administration, and I respect their confidence.

  2. Young people are influenced by other young people ad politicians have picked up on that, specifically the Democratic party. Olivia is a great example you used. Other examples that I have heard of was Georgia rapper Latto backing Stacy Abrams campaign for governor a few years back.
